Admission to Academic Year 2017 - 18

International students are strongly encouraged to enquire, prior to applying, about the deadlines for the obtainment of visas (for non EU citizens) and other formal enrolment requirements at the International Students Office (segrstu.stranieri@unito.it). We suggest to gather this information as early as possible and not later than June.
  Application for international students

We welcome applications from students who have, or expect to have, completed a relevant Bachelors degree by the end of the academic year preceding the desired year of entry. Students graduated in Biotechnology or Biology in an Italian University have direct access to our program (instruction for enrolment). Candidates of Italian universities with Degree in other subjects and candidates of universities abroad have to submit their application (Application procedure).
The Selection Committee will evaluate all applications on the basis of the supporting documentation provided by the applicant. The evaluation outcome, notified to each applicant soon after each deadline, is one of the following:

  • admitted, whereby the student can enroll for the current academic year;
  • not admitted, whereby the student cannot enroll for the current academic year;
  • invited for an interview.

The interview aims at assessing the compatibility of the candidate academic profile with the program in Molecular Biotechnology, on the basis of the academic curriculum and background. Skills evaluated during the interview include General and inorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Genetics
Interview is held in English at the University of Torino on pre-announced dates, or, upon request by the applicant, on Skype. Residents in the north-west of Italy are expected to be physically present for the interview.
