Course objectives
Starting from the fundamentals acquired in the Bachelor degree, this master course addresses the therapeutic activity of drugs employed in neurological disease and drug used to treat inflammation.
The course provides also insights on:
-history, development, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of biotechnology drugs
-brain-gut axis as a possible field of interest for drug development
-behavioral analysis in rodents to test drug activity on the central nervous system

Results of learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able to understand how drugs affect the organism and to investigate how biological systems fail to function, providing information on the etiology of some disease and of some disease symptoms.
The students will learn the drug molecular activity on major neurological desease and know how to perform and perceive the intended meaning of behavioral study in animal models for testing drug activity on the nervous sistem. They will be able to recognize and understand the therapeutic use of new biotechnological drugs.
In particular, the learning outcomes will be:
Knowledge and understanding ability
the Student will be able to learn and understand the topics of the pharmacology programApplying knowledge and understanding
the Student will be able to apply the knowledge and to understand pharmacology with basic and applied research purposesIndependent Judgement
the Student will be able to develop a good judgment and analysis autonomy on pharmacological problemsCommunication skills
the Student will be able to develop good communication skills and suitable language properties in the didactic fieldLearning skills
the Student will be able to develop functional organizational and learning skills in future institutional settings (PhD)- Oggetto:
